Your Youshh Account

Getting Started

Opening a free account on Youshh is a simple process to complete.

There is no personal bank account or credit card information required to use the service. A PayPal account is required to receive payments and we require the email address that is associated to that account to issue payments.


 

Setting Up and Activating Your Youshh Account

Step 1 - Navigate to the top right hand corner of the page you are on and click the profile icon, which is the farthest right icon.

Step 2 - Scroll down the list to the fourth one down which says Sign Up, then click.

Step 3 - Complete the Sign Up process. Enter your Name, Username, Password and Contact email address, tick the Captcha box to confirm you are not a robot and then click the Register button.

Step 4 - Clicking the Register button will atomically take you to the ‘Create Profile’ section. Complete this section, upload a Profile Avatar, enter your Profile Name; Gender and Profile Description, choose your Category and enter a PayPal email address for payments. Once this is completed press the Save button.


 

Choosing a Secure Password

When creating an account with Youshh, we advise using best practices when it comes to choosing a password. Where possible, use a password manager, otherwise make sure your password contains both letters, numbers and special characters, and is not a basic word.

Choosing a strong password will give your account extra security.


 

How to change your Account email address

To change the email address of your Youshh account, please follow these steps:

Step 1 - Log in to your account.

Step 2 - Click on the Profile Icon in the farthest top right of the screen.

Step 3 - Click on ‘My Profile’.

Step 4 - Change email address to new email address and confirm the new email address below.

Step 5 - Click ‘Submit’.

Step 6 - Click the home icon, the first icon in the top right corner of the screen.


 

How to change your PayPal Account email address

Step 1 - Log in to your account.

Step 2 - Click on the Profile Icon in the farthest top right of the screen.

Step 3 - Click on ‘My Profile’.

Step 4 - Scroll down to ‘PayPal Payments’, delete the old email address and replace with your new associated PayPal email address. It is your responsibility to make sure this information is kept up-to-date.

Step 5 - Click ‘Save’.

Step 6 - Click the home icon, the first icon in the top right corner of the screen.


 

How to log out of your account

To log out of your account, follow these steps:

Step 1 - Click the Profile icon at the top right of the screen.

Step 2 - Click the last option ‘Logout’.


 

Adding an avatar image to your profile

Your avatar image is the picture that will be displayed on your profile. Accepted image formats are .jpg, .gif, .png. The optimal dimensions are 1080px x 800px.

Step 1 - Repeat steps 1 to 4 in the ‘Setting Up and Activating Your Youshh Account, and How To Upload a Video’ section above.

Step 2 - After you have chosen your avatar image, it will appear in the Awaiting Image box.

Step 3 - Click the home icon, the first icon in the top right corner of the screen.


 

Difference between profile and video images

Your profile image is the image used for your account. This will be visible on your channel page.

Your video image is used as the cover of your video. You can choose different covers for different videos.


 

Linking Youshh Channels/Videos to Social Media

You can enable social sharing to reach new viewers and grow your audience with our built in social sharing features.

You can easily link and share your channel/video content on other social platforms on Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter by clicking the ‘Share this’ button that is located either to the right (on desktop version) or just underneath (on device) the video that you want to share.

You can also copy the link to paste on any social media bios and profiles which will easily enable your followers access to view your Youshh channel and videos.

Your fans will also be able to easily post your videos to their fans and followers on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Twitter and extend your reach to their audiences and traffic.


 

Problems with Logging In

If you experience issues logging into your Youshh account, please try the following:

Step 1 - Clear your browser and refresh the Youshh webpage. Try logging in again.

Step 2 - Check that you have cookies enabled, these are required to make the site run smoothly.

Step 3 - Check to see if any plugins you are using could be affecting the site. Try disabling these plugins and then try logging in again.

Step 4 - If you are using a VPN, check its settings are not interfering with the site. Try to change the settings and then try logging in again.

Step 5 - Try using a different browser or device if possible to see if this makes a difference.

If you are still experiencing issues please get in contact with us. When contacting us please provide as much information as possible, including screenshots of any error messages you receive. This will be helpful for us in our investigations.

Video Content Restrictions

You may use Youshh and the service if you are 16 years of age and above. If you are under the age of 18, you must have consent and permission from your parent or legal guardian to use Youshh.

Youshh does not allow content that is of an inappropriate nature to be published and viewed on the service. Video content that contains any of the below list will not pass the approval process.

  • Extreme or radical views
  • Explicit adult content
  • Harmful content/dangerous acts
  • Revealing someone else’s personal information without their consent
  • Violent content/threats of violence/incitement to violence
  • Spamming
  • Illegal content
  • Unauthorised use of copy written content

Youshh does also not accept content that has branded terminology or imagery that is associated with other Video Sharing Platforms.

To ensure your videos pass the approval process please keep your videos clean and family friendly and use the original file/source content from your desktop or device and not shared from another video sharing platform.


 

Video

How to Upload a Video

Step 1 - Please follow steps 1-4 from ‘Setting Up and Activating Your Youshh Account’ above.

Step 2 - After completion of creating your profile you will again be automatically redirected to the Upload Video Step 1 section. Enter a Title for your Youshh video, enter a short description for your video, chose the category for where you would like your video visible and then press the Continue button.

Step 3Upload Video Step 2. Upload the Cover Image for your video and then press the Continue button.

Step 4Upload Video Step 3. Upload your video media. Check that your video format is accepted by our video player. MP4, OGV, AVI, MOV, FLV and 3GP are our preferred video file formats to upload.

Wait whilst your media is uploading. This might take some time depending on your WiFi connectivity, video length, file size or the format the file is in. Please be patient whilst this process is being completed, it shouldn’t take too much time. Once completed, press the Continue button.

Once the video has completed uploading it will then need to pass the approval process it will show as either ‘Live’ on your ‘My Channel’ page or as ‘Unpublished’.

If your content is ‘unpublished’ this could be down to your WiFi coverage or the content is inappropriate and has not met the approval process requirements or the video file itself was the issue.

Do repeat the process in a different file format or on a different device if you believe the content meets the publishing requirements on Youshh.


 

Optimal Video Settings

The optimal video settings are MP4, OGV, AVI, MOV, FLV and 3GP. Videos uploaded through different formats should still work. However, they may take longer to upload than if in line with the optimal formats.


 

Adding a cover image to your video

Troubleshooting Uploading Videos

If you are experiencing issues when uploading a video on the upload screen, please try the following:

1 - Clear your browser and refresh the Youshh webpage. Try logging in again.

2 - Check that you have cookies enabled, these are required to make the site run smoothly.

3 - Check to see if any plugins you are using could be affecting the site. Try disabling these plugins and then try logging in again.

4 - If you are using a VPN, check its settings are not interfering with the site. Try to change the settings and then try logging in again.

5 - Try using a different browser or device if possible to see if this makes a difference.

6 - Try uploading the video in a different file format.

7 - Change the name of the file and then try uploading again.

8 - Where possible, optimise the video before trying to upload. Smaller video files should be easier to upload.

9 - Check your WiFi coverage and speed. Reset your WiFi if necessary.

Videos stuck in processing

The time it takes for a video to process can vary for a variety of reasons:

  • Slow WiFi connectivity.
  • The volume of users uploading content at the same time.
  • The size of the video file trying to be uploaded.
  • The file format itself.

Videos should process, even if they do take a considerable while. However, sometimes the quickest solution is to delete the video and try uploading it again, this may speed up the process. Or, try to optimise the file format.


 

How to delete a video

Should you wish to completely delete a video from your channel, please follow these steps:

Step 1 - Click on the Profile Icon in the farthest top right of the screen.

Step 2 - Click on ‘My Channel’.

Step 3 - Select the video that you wish to delete and press the ‘Delete’ button.

Step 4 - Press ‘Confirm’ on the automatic pop-up.


 

Appeal a Blocked Video

All videos published on Youshh have to meet our Approval Process. If we have reason to believe a video contains content that is within our restrictions, it will not pass this process nor will it be activated.

If you believe that your video has been blocked in error, please get in touch via our ‘Contact Us’ page and select ‘Accounts’ as the email header. Please attach a link to the video and a brief description of the material so we can investigate this for you.


 

Users

Search on Youshh

Searching on Youshh is simple. Type in a search term in the search bar at the top of the screen, then press ‘Go’. Or, choose from the pre-selected category selection bar underneath the search bar.


 

Flag a Video

If you believe a video is in breach of our Terms and Conditions, e.g. content restrictions or copyright infringement, please get in touch via the ‘Contact Us’ page, selecting either ‘Report’ or ‘Infringement’ as the header. Please attach a link to the video, a screenshot and a brief description of the material so we can investigate this for you.


 

Videos not playing properly

If you are experiencing issues with videos not playing, either properly or at all, please try the following:

Step 1 - Clear your browser and refresh the Youshh webpage. Try watching the video again.

Step 2 - Check that you have cookies enabled, these are required to make the site run smoothly.

Step 3 - Check to see if any plugins you are using could be affecting the site. Try disabling these plugins and then try to watch the video again.

Step 4 - If you are using a VPN, check its settings are not interfering with the site. Try to change the settings and then try to watch the video again.

Step 5 - Try using a different browser or device if possible to see if this makes a difference and you can watch the video.

Step 6 - Check your WiFi coverage and speed. Reset your WiFi if necessary.

Step 7 - If you have an ad blocker installed, please check to see if this is interfering with the site.

Advertising Revenue Payments to You

How you get paid

For your security, our only method of payment to you is via PayPal, using the email address associated to that account.


 

When you get paid

The last day of every month is when we process payments. So expect funds to be received 1-7 days after this date.

Payment will be released on the last day of the month if your content has reached £50 of advertising revenue, after our costs have been paid.

Revenue under £50 will be carried over until this threshold has been met.


 

Support

Please check the Terms and Conditions for more information on the subject. We do not answer questions regarding ‘how long does it take to earn £50’ nor do we reply to any other references regarding this process. There are a variety of factors to take into consideration and an accurate answer is not possible for us to give.
